The Protocol, In Three Steps
Don't take our word for any of this — the encryption runs in your browser, where you can open the developer tools and audit it.
01Encrypted In Your Browser
Pastes and files are encrypted with keys generated in your browser tab, before anything is uploaded. Our servers receive ciphertext — nothing else.
02The Key Never Reaches Us
The decryption key travels in the URL fragment — the part after the #. Browsers never send fragments to servers, so we cannot decrypt what we store, even under compulsion.
03Then It Vanishes
Every share has an expiry timer, and burn-after-read deletes the ciphertext on first successful fetch. Optional passwords add a second key layer, derived with Argon2id.
