Warrant Canary

A warrant canary is a set of statements we affirm while they remain true. Some legal demands come with a gag order that forbids us from telling you about them — but nothing compels us to keep affirming a statement. While this canary is armed we affirm it continuously; if that affirmation is ever withdrawn, read that as the signal it is.

Affirmed as of September 16, 2026

  • We have never received a National Security Letter, FISA order, or any other classified request for user data.
  • We have never received a gag order preventing us from disclosing a request.
  • We have never been compelled to modify our systems, hand over encryption keys, or weaken our cryptography.
  • We have never disclosed the contents of pastes or files — they are ciphertext we cannot read.
  • No government or third party has ever had access to our infrastructure.

How to read it

This canary re-affirms itself every time this page loads, for as long as the statements above stay true. If we can no longer affirm them — because a legal demand we are gagged from describing forces our hand — we withdraw the affirmation, and this page says so instead. We publish it here rather than promise a protection the law could quietly override. Stored mail is now sealed to a key only its owner holds — we can’t read it — and the only residual exposure is external mail crossing our border in the clear for the moment it transits, as our acceptable use policy states plainly.
